Hi, I’m Gavin Fenwick Christo,
the creator of OOSH TV
To educators, parents and friends I’m known simply as Gav. To kids, I’m known as G-Man, Bubble man, Mustache man, Cartoon man, Japanese pants man, the list keeps growing.
Its often said that I “speak the natural language of children” through my connection to creativity, imagination, curiosity and play.
I’m a volunteer for the Sydney children’s Hospital, and at the National Centre for Indigenous Excellence.
Previous to starting OOSH TV, I worked as an animator on local and international children’s television series. I also hold many years worth of hilarious and heartwarming stories from my time working as an early childhood educator in Japan and France and Australia. The collaboration and relationships built with many fellow educators throughout Australia has been a major driving force behind my design of a digital hub of creative children’s activities.
My qualifications include bachelor of Design: visual communication, Diploma of acting for stage and screen, Shodan in Aikido and short courses such as Early childhood development and Business management.
My Ikigai (life purpose) is to harness the creative energy in kids and grown ups in order to find fulfillment and success.
How it all came to be…
What is OOSH TV?
The vision of OOSH TV is to become the world’s most comprehensive digital hub of quality creative activities for children.
OOSH TV is almost 2 decades in the making.
Beginning in the year 2002, while working on animated television series I began a concept for a children’s television pilot. Over the years, I have added ideas for activities, characters, segments and workshops; way too much to squeeze into a 30minute show. Though the technology was not yet available, I kept adding activities to the database, confident that in the future there would be a way to deliver this.
In 2020, the advent of Covid brought about a digital educational revolution.
